Cleaners E3 Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps that Cleaners E3 has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. Cleaners E3 operates in the cleaning and facilities services sector and recognises its responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards and respect for human rights.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Cleaners E3 has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not take place in our own operations or anywhere in our supply chain.
All colleagues, contractors, and suppliers are expected to comply with this policy as a fundamental condition of working with or for Cleaners E3. Any suspected breach will be treated with the utmost seriousness and may result in termination of contracts or engagement, as well as referral to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Standards
Our supply chain includes providers of cleaning products and equipment, facilities and maintenance services, recruitment and labour agencies, and other business support services. We recognise that certain parts of our supply chain may present a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where low-skilled or temporary labour is used.
To address these risks, we require our suppliers and subcontractors to uphold standards that are consistent with our own. We expect them to comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights legislation; prohibit forced, bonded, or involuntary labour; ensure workers are employed of their own free will; provide fair wages and working hours; and maintain safe and respectful working conditions.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Cleaners E3 undertakes proportionate due diligence on suppliers, particularly those considered higher risk due to geography, sector, or nature of work. This due diligence may include pre-engagement questionnaires on labour practices, contractual commitments to anti-slavery standards, assessment of recruitment and employment practices, and review of any relevant policies or statements on modern slavery.
We may conduct periodic audits or site visits, either directly or through trusted partners, to verify compliance with our expectations. Where shortcomings are identified, we will work with suppliers to implement corrective action plans within reasonable timeframes. Failure to demonstrate sufficient improvement or cooperation may result in reduced business, suspension, or termination of the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Cleaners E3 encourages a culture of openness where concerns about modern slavery, human trafficking, or any other unethical behaviour can be raised without fear of victimisation or retaliation. Employees, contractors, and workers within our supply chains are encouraged to report any suspicion of exploitation or malpractice through internal reporting routes made available to them.
Concerns can be raised confidentially through designated internal management channels, or in line with our whistleblowing and grievance procedures. All reports are taken seriously, investigated promptly and fairly, and handled with appropriate sensitivity. Where necessary, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement or relevant agencies.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our management teams and key staff involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management. Training and guidance are provided to help colleagues recognise indicators of modern slavery, understand how to respond to concerns, and apply our policies in their day-to-day roles.
We also communicate our expectations to suppliers so that awareness of modern slavery risks is embedded more widely across our supply chain.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Cleaners E3 recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous improvement. We regularly monitor the effectiveness of our policies, procedures, and controls, including the outcomes of audits and any reported concerns.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by our leadership team to ensure it remains current, effective, and aligned with legal and best practice developments. As our business evolves, we will seek further opportunities to strengthen our approach, enhance transparency, and deepen engagement with stakeholders to help eradicate modern slavery.
Approval of this Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Cleaners E3 and applies to the current financial year. It will be updated and reissued on an annual basis to reflect our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery in all areas of our business and supply chains.
